    Only needs to be enclosed by an applicant who is residing abroad or has no temporary residence in the Republic of Slovenia at the time of submission of the application under this call for applications. 

  • Can I live with my child or partner in the dormitory for postgraduate students?

    The Dormitory for postgraduate students has a few apartments and a few family apartments (for families with children), which are designed to accommodate candidates who are extending their stay. If they don’t need these apartments, we can also offer them to candidates who are just starting their stay at DPL.

    The apartments available to applicants are mainly studio apartments, which are designed for one person, but it is also possible.

  • Extending my stay – what are the mandatory attachments to Form A?
    • Foreign nationals submit a signed »Declaration of the applicant – foreign citizen on citizenship« (Form B). (Translation of form B)
    • Young researchers must submit a Employer’s certificate of employment in the position of young researcher (job code H017002) in the academic year 2025/2026 (Form C). (Translation of form C)
    • Recipients of the Scholarship of the Republic of Slovenia must attach proof of scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year
  • I am applying for the first time. What are the mandatory attachments?
    • Foreign nationals submit a signed »Declaration of the applicant – foreign citizen on citizenship« (Form B). (Translation of form B)

    • Recipients of the Scholarship of the Republic of Slovenia must attach proof of scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year.
    • Foreign nationals who reside abroad at the time of submitting the application or do not have a temporary residence and address for service in the Republic of Slovenia must indicate the address of their authorized representative for service in the Republic of Slovenia in the application who has been authorized to serve mail in accordance with the provisions of the General Administrative Procedure Act, with a completed »Power of attorney for service of documents« (Form D).     • Students whose studies are conducted at a higher education institution that does not have its headquarters in Ljubljana, submit a certificate from the institution that it has a branch in Ljubljana or in a location that is no more than 25 km away from Ljubljana.
  • How do I submit an application?

    The applicant can submit an application of stay in two ways:

    Electronically using a secure electronic mailbox (VEP.si). The application with all attachments can be submitted electronically through the VEP.si portal. After registering on the portal, students fill out the appropriate electronic application form and attach the required attachments. All further communication between the parties will take place using a secure electronic mailbox. After submitting the application, the student receives a confirmation of a successfully submitted application. If the student does not receive the confirmation, the application was not submitted successfully.

    By registered mail to Študentski dom Ljubljana, Komisija za sprejem (Admissions Committee) - Postgraduate House Ljubljana, Svetčeva ulica 9, 1000 Ljubljana. The completed application with all required attachments must be sent in a sealed envelope with the sender and recipient's full name and address »Študentski dom Ljubljana, Komisija za sprejem v zavod – Dom podiplomcev Ljubljana, Svetčeva ulica 9, 1000 Ljubljana with the indication VLOGA ZA SPREJEM ALI PODALJŠANJE ŠDL DPL 2025/2026« 

  • I am a foreigner and I can’t submit my application electronically, what can I do?

    You can always submit your application by regular mail, i.e. by registered mail to Študentski dom Ljubljana, Komisija za sprejem (Admissions Committee), Svetčeva ulica 9, 1000 Ljubljana.

    With the secure electronic mailbox provider VEP.SI, you can check if your qualified digital certificate allows you to submit an application via the VEP.SI secure electronic mailbox. The VEP.SI secure electronic mailbox supports most qualified digital certificates issued in the EU.
